    June 27th, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Dublin hosted Visegrad poetry evening, organized with collaboration with the Czech, Slovak and Hungarian Embassies in Dublin.

    The Ambassadors of V4 countries i.e. Czech Republic: H.E. Hana Mottlová, Hungary: H.E. István S. Pálffy and Slovakia: H.E. Dušan Matulay, representatives of Diplomatic Corps and poetry admirers, took part in this low-key but exceptional quality event.

     

    The evening was opened by chargé d’affaires a.i. Piotr Rakowski and the foreword was delivered by the Irish poet Cathal McCabe, Chair of Ireland-Poland Cultural Foundation and the programmer of the evening, responsible for the poems selection.

     

    Poems from Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Poland, by the artists like: Zbigniew Herbert, Stanisław Barańczak, Jan Kochanowski, Sándor Weöres, Ladislav Novomeský and Bohuslav Reyne, were presented by Simon Coury, Alen Dvořákov, Thomas Kabdebo, Cathal McCabe, Justyna McCabe and John Minahane.
